Who we are
Organizations and countries in a constant cooperation exercise
The Area of Social Cohesion and South-South Cooperation of the Ibero-American General Secretariat (SEGIB by its Spanish acronym) is in charge of systematizing and analyzing information on South-South and Triangular Cooperation in Ibero-America. This work is carried out together with Ibero-American countries (through their Agencies and Directorates-General for Cooperation) and the Ibero-American Program for the Strengthening of South-South Cooperation (PIFCSS by its Spanish acronym).
The results of this collective effort are reflected, in a privileged manner, in the annual Report on South-South and Triangular Cooperation in Ibero-America, which has been published since 2007. Both its structure and the methodology that supports the information system on which it is based are defined by the countries themselves. The Report has become an international reference, it has served as a space to reflect on the matter, and it has enhanced the voice of the region’s Heads of Cooperation.
PIFCSS, in turn, is an intergovernmental cooperation program aimed at strengthening South-South and Triangular Cooperation in Ibero-America, promoting its values and principles. In its more than 10 years’ experience, it has contributed to this purpose by working both at the political and at the technical level.
